Who’s afraid of the big bad Wolf?
It was dusk when little Kyungsoo sneaked out of his cottage to go to the river bank where he found a big size dog got badly hurt with wounds on the body during his afternoon playtime, making a promise to himself that he’ll come by to give it food.
Once he’s near the destination, Kyungsoo silently eyed the place where he saw the dog but to find a young man sitting near the riverbank washing dirt off his body. Kyungsoo stared for long until he slowly walked up to the man and noticed that the man had weird ears and a tail.
“Aren’t you supposed to be home kid?” The man’s low voice surprised Kyungsoo causing him to squeak in return. “It’s not safe.”
Despite the young man’s warning Kyungsoo stepped closer, smiling up at the man and offered him the food that he brought for the dog but since the dog was nowhere to be found he decided to give it to the other.
“Aren’t you afraid of me?” The young man asked him, a frown decorated his features as he eyed the small boy who smiled up to him innocently offering him food. “Haven’t you heard of big bad wolf before?”
“Mommy said big bad wolf isn’t really bad,” Kyungsoo said, nudging the food towards him telling him to take it. “She said big bad wolf is just big.”
Kyungsoo giggled as the young man took the food and eyed at it. “Your mommy is weird then.”
“I’m Kyungsoo,” Kyungsoo introduced himself, “and what’s your name mister?”
“I’m Tao,” Tao blushed at how carefree the younger is, “and I’m not that old to be called Mister, Kid.”
Kyungsoo stared at him wide eyes before he started to giggle again. “If so then you’re too young to call me a kid.”
Kyungsoo looked up at the starry night and gasped, “I need to go. I want to see you again tomorrow Tao.” Kyungsoo waved as he ran.
Tao stared at the retreating back feeling lost at the small boy’s behaviour.
Kyungsoo went back to the river side the next morning to see the dog from yesterday sleeping beside the riverbank where he met Tao the other night.
Sensing that there’s another presence the dog jerked up in a defensive stunt just to relax once its vision cleared to see a small boy standing with a wide heart shape smile.
“You’re Tao,” Kyungsoo giggled when the realized it, “and you’re not a dog.”
Tao thought that if he’s in a human form he might be laughing at how amazed Kyungsoo sound at his new discovery.
Slowly Kyungsoo reached Tao and patted the back of his ears and giggled as the soft fur tickles his small palm. “It’s fluffy!” and the next thing Tao knew Kyungsoo was hugging him.
Several days passed and that night Kyungsoo told his mother that he wanted to meet his friend just for a bit, with lots of pouting and sulking eventually his mother allowed him to meet his friend for an hour.
Kyungsoo ran up to Tao hugging his muscular body that’s been covered up with the clothes that Kyungsoo gave him.
“I’m sorry for not able to come and play with you this morning, my cousin was here,” Kyungsoo’s voice was muffled by Tao’s clothed but Tao heard it clearly.
“It’s alright,” Tao said as they laid down on the grass, a second passed and he found Kyungsoo sitting on top of him smiling down to him, reaching up and he felt small fingers playing with his ears.
Not familiar with feeling of others touching his ears it twitched and caused the small boys to laugh at how it kept on twitching. Unknowing to Kyungsoo, Tao liked the way Kyungsoo laughed and giggled at Tao’s reaction.
“I’ll walk you home, it’s getting really dark,” Tao said when Kyungsoo told him that he need to make a move.
They stopped walking once Kyungsoo’s cottage was in sight and Kyungsoo smiled up at him with small hands tugging Tao to squat down.
Once Tao squatted down in front of Kyungsoo, Kyungsoo smiled and hugged him. “I’m not afraid of big bad wolf because you’re not a big bad wolf, like mommy said you’re just big.” Kyungsoo removed himself from Tao to bend down and picked something off the ground making Tao to wonder what he’s doing.
Just as he was about to ask, Kyungsoo pushed a flower under his nose as he stared deep into his eyes. “Tao you are the kindest wolf ever,” he started and blushed at how Tao stared at him, waiting for him to continue.
“And I love you,” Kyungsoo broke the eye contact as he mumbled out his feelings.
Tao was thankful for his sharp hearing and smiled widely at the small boy before pulling him in for a hug and whispered back the 3 endearing words, and placed a kiss on his temple.
After that day Tao and Kyungsoo’s bond become stronger and they become possessive of one another, growling at whoever comes closer to their partner.
